Accredited Family Mediator

Fedoua Ait-Baha

Fedoua is an accredited family mediator and child-inclusive mediator based in Ghent, specializing in cross-border and intercultural family dynamics. She supports parents in navigating complex situations involving different cultural backgrounds, migration experiences, and value systems.

Her work focuses on helping parents build respectful and sustainable co-parenting relationships, with a strong emphasis on children’s well-being. She believes that when parents find constructive ways to communicate and cooperate, the positive impact on children is long-lasting.

Fedoua’s approach combines professional expertise with lived experience, allowing her to work with sensitivity to the cultural, social, and structural factors that shape conflict and decision-making.

International & Collaborative Work

Fedoua is the co-founder of the All Voices Mediation Network, together with Despina Konstantinidou. This transnational initiative is dedicated to training mediators in diversity-aware and inclusive practices, with a focus on power dynamics, cultural context, and underrepresented perspectives.

In her capacity as a trainer, Fedoua designs and delivers training programs in diversity-aware mediation, supporting professionals in developing the awareness and skills required to effectively navigate intercultural dynamics and complexity in mediation processes.

In addition, Fedoua collaborates with Lisa Parkinson in delivering specialized training in child-inclusive mediation for professionals working with families.

Fedoua is actively involved in strengthening cross-border mediation practices in Morocco and contributes as a volunteer mediator for the City of Ghent.

Fedoua holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from VU University Amsterdam and completed an advanced postgraduate program in mediation at KU Leuven. She remains closely connected to KU Leuven, where she contributes to the organization and development of its mediation program.
